Faculty of Nursing Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week with an Inspiring Session
The Community Health Nursing Department at the Faculty of Nursing, The British University in Egypt (BUE), under the patronage of Professor Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Mona Hassan, Vice-Dean for Community Service and Enterprise, successfully organised a scientific session titled “Priorities in Breastfeeding” on Monday, 22 September 2025.
The event, led by Professor Doaa Yacout, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department, was arranged in collaboration with the Egyptian Institute for Child Health and Nutrition and the Egyptian Lactation Consultant Association.
The session brought together distinguished experts and professionals, including notable representatives from both collaborating institutions, who shared the latest insights and best practices in breastfeeding.
This important celebration of World Breastfeeding Week underscored the vital role of breastfeeding in promoting child health and nutrition, while also highlighting the value of academic–community partnerships in advancing maternal and child well-being.
