Leadership & Structure

The British University in Egypt is an Egyptian not-for-profit private university, established under Egyptian law. It was established following an intergovernmental agreement between the Egyptian and British governments with the vision of creating a university in Egypt following the standards and the culture of British higher education and offering UK-validated degrees.

The University is governed by a Board of Trustees comprising the President of The British University in Egypt and eminent public figures from Egypt and the UK. Chaired by Mrs. Farida Mohamed Farid Khamis, the Board of Trustees approves the University strategy and bylaws which govern the University’s operations. The bylaws also set out a committee structure for the day-to-day leadership and management of the University.
