In 2004, with ardent support from the British Embassy and the British Council, a Presidential decree was issued establishing the British University in Egypt. Construction of the initial phase of the University campus was underway, and the University welcomed its first cohort of undergraduate students in September 2005. The University is located on a large purpose-built campus on the outskirts of Cairo, boasting well-equipped facilities to support the delivery of its academic programs.

The total area of The British University in Egypt is 165,598 m2 / 40 acres, with more than 17 buildings built on 17% of the total area.

El-Shorouk City

Location: 1.5 KM from Suez Desert Road and 8 Km from Ismailia Desert Road.

The nearest cities to the university are Madinaty, EL-Obour, New Heliopolis, Badr City, Administrative Capital, and Fifth Settlement.

The British University in Egypt is about 32 KM from Cairo.

Library Building: The Library provides training and guidance to enable students to gain the greatest benefit from its collection of print and e-resources. The British University in Egypt has a digital library with international journals for all academic programs and special interests. The Library also provides off-campus access to all electronic resources and the catalogue to support independent study via websites.

In addition, many programs have special facilities such as the stock market simulation in the Faculty of BAEPS, a Wind tunnel for the Faculty of Engineering, dental labs for the Faculty of Dentistry, Pharmacy labs, Mass Comm Studios, and Nursing examination rooms

Disabled access is present across campus in the buildings and outdoor area with ramps and restrooms well-positioned for easy access. The last upgrade involved ramps for the food court.

 

Staff Residence Compound

The university has a compound for International and National Staff members with a capacity of 96 units between duplexes, flats, and studios.
