LEARNING & BUSINESS CENTERS

Teaching and Learning

We, at The British University in Egypt, are committed to providing our students not merely with degrees but also with the skills to put what they have learned to use in their careers. This enables them, whenever they change employment, to apply these skills to new areas. This is a key part of the University’s Strategic Plan and it naturally depends on the nature and quality of our teaching.

Our University ensures that teaching is fit for this purpose by aligning it with the most enlightened current international developments in teaching and learning. They seek to make possible, as a core component of the Student Experience, teaching that is communicative, project-based and student-centred.

Teaching & Learning Strategy

The delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes is the core activity of the University. It is advanced through the BUE Teaching and Learning Strategy.

The strategic objective for Teaching and Learning is:

to provide a high-quality British-style research-led learning experience which attracts students of outstanding potential and equips them with the capacity to undertake higher education and research, and the transferable skills and knowledge required by employers or to become the creators of new ventures.

Achieving this strategic objective involves:

  • Attracting high-quality students with research–active academic staff capable of delivering UK higher education in accord with the British ethos and standards.
  • Developing effective, communicative and innovative teaching, and providing a learning environment (academic, pastoral and social) that stimulates our students to become independent learners realising their full academic potential.
  • Offering a portfolio of degree programmes providing knowledge and skills required for graduate employability, consistent with regional and international needs and the requirements of UK university validation.
  • Creating a student learning experience through BUE’s UK-style Library and IT infrastructure, complemented by the implementation of Library, IT and eLearning strategies, as well as Learner Support, underpinned by Estates, Human Resources and financial planning.
