Faculty of Nursing Marks World Diabetes Day with Campus-Wide Health Initiative
Promoting Public Health Through Student Engagement, Clinical Practice, and Collaborations
“World Diabetes Day" Event was organised by Community Health Nursing staff and students under the auspices of Professor Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and the HOD Prof Doaa Yacout, head of the department, in collaboration with the National Medical Laboratory on Monday, November 18th, 2025.
Many services were offered, including free screenings for diabetes such as fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, and cholesterol levels; in addition to raising awareness about diabetes and promoting healthy lifestyles and dietary habits. Provided the service for University academic staff, students, admins, and university workers, 400 personnel were served.
This Extracurricular Class Activity enhances students' clinical skills, community engagement, and teamwork, while promoting public health awareness and collaboration with healthcare organisations.
Target beneficiaries: - BUE staff, drivers, workers, and Students.
