MISSION & VISION

The objectives of the AIBI are to develop an interdisciplinary centre to shape research in the Faculty, catch up with new technologies and their application practices, adopt an applied research approach, leverage existing research interests, enable research collaboration with local and international partners, and reach out to the community with needed training related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Vision

Within the Faculty of ICS, there is a wide range of research being undertaken, as demonstrated by the Faculty's list of publications. Most of this research is unfunded and is being conducted by individual staff members. However, recently, the Faculty has started to submit proposals for external funding from local and international funding agencies.

The Centre for Advanced Informatics and Business Intelligence aims to achieve several goals:

- Shape the research in the Faculty both vertically and horizontally by expanding individual research projects and introducing new research areas that are multidisciplinary in nature.

- Keep up with new technologies and their practical applications.

- Enhance research and capacity building in cutting-edge computing fields.

- Take an applied research approach and focus on finding solutions to real-world problems.

- Capitalise on the existing research interests and strengths of the Faculty.

- Provide new opportunities for staff and students to address real problems and develop solutions.
