Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Nursing Hold First Aid Workshop
As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Faculties of Pharmacy and Nursing, a first-aid training workshop was successfully held on 10 February 2025. The event took place under the auspices of Professor Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Professor Mohey Elmazar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Organised by the Faculty of Pharmacy’s Occupational Health, Safety, and Crisis Management Committee, the workshop aimed to equip faculty staff with essential emergency response skills. Participants, including pharmacy staff, teaching assistants, and laboratory assistants, received hands-on training in CPR using simulation mannequins. The session also covered critical first-aid techniques for handling burns, fractures, asphyxiation, gas leaks, epilepsy, and diabetic coma.
The training was led by Dr Heba Abdelmawla, Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing and acting Head of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department. Attendees praised the workshop for its effectiveness and practical approach.
Adding to the event’s significance, Professor Nahla El Ashmawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Pharmacy, honoured the workshop with her presence, emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in enhancing healthcare education and emergency preparedness.
