Opening Sports Unit Energy
With great pride, the Faculty of Physiotherapy is pleased to announce the opening of its Sports Injuries Unit.
On this special occasion, we were honoured to welcome a number of professional football and volleyball players from Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids, and ENPPI clubs.
The players commended the unit’s state-of-the-art facilities and the high-quality therapeutic and assessment services it offers.
Our aim is to enhance our students’ practical training and create new opportunities for specialisation in the field of sports injuries making us one of the first Faculties of Physiotherapy to provide robust, hands-on training in this area.
We also aspire to strengthen future collaborations between the unit and club teams in order to raise awareness about the importance of continuous assessment in identifying athletes’ strengths and weaknesses and working to improve them.
We were delighted to welcome Mariam Metwally, volleyball star of Zamalek FC and Africa’s top-ranked player, to the Sports Injuries Unit at the Faculty of Physiotherapy, The British University in Egypt.
During her visit, she expressed her admiration for the unit’s modern equipment and advanced facilities, highlighting the crucial role these services play in an athlete’s life from injury prevention to effective recovery and peak performance.
We were also honoured to receive Hassan Tarek, talented footballer from Pyramids FC, at the Sports Injuries Unit.
He shared his appreciation for the advanced rehabilitation technologies and modern infrastructure available at the unit, emphasising how vital such facilities are to an athlete’s journey supporting recovery, enhancing performance, and maintaining muscle health.
