Nursing Faculty Participates in the 3rd International Congenital Anomalies Integrated Care Congress

The Pediatric Nursing Department at the Faculty of Nursing, The British University in Egypt (BUE) proudly participated in the Congenital Anomalies Integrated Care Congress (CAICC 2026), the Third International Congress of the Nile of Hope Hospital, held from 25–26 June 2026.

The congress brought together distinguished healthcare professionals, surgeons, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists to discuss the latest advances in the integrated management of congenital anomalies. Through scientific lectures, workshops, and interactive discussions, the event promoted collaboration among healthcare disciplines to improve clinical outcomes and quality of care for children with congenital conditions.

Representing the Faculty of Nursing, members of the Pediatric Nursing Department made valuable scientific contributions through specialized workshops and presentations that highlighted evidence-based nursing practice and multidisciplinary pediatric care.

Participated in the Wound Care and Surgical Site Management Workshop, where they shared current evidence-based approaches to postoperative wound care, surgical site management, and best practices that enhance recovery and patient safety in pediatric surgical settings.

Contributed to the Bowel Management Program (BMP): Nursing Leadership in Continence workshop, emphasizing the essential role of nurses in bowel management programmes, continence care, patient education, and improving long-term outcomes for children with congenital gastrointestinal conditions.

Presented a scientific session entitled: "Evidence-Based Nursing Management of Continuous Irrigation Catheters in Pediatric Patients Following Malone and Mitrofanoff Channels: Long-Term Management and Independence."

The presentation explored current evidence-based nursing interventions for the management of continuous irrigation catheters following Malone Antegrade Continence Enema (MACE) and Mitrofanoff procedures. It highlighted nursing strategies that promote patient safety, prevent complications, support family education, and foster long-term independence and quality of life for pediatric patients living with congenital colorectal and urological conditions.

The participation of the Pediatric Nursing Department in CAICC 2026 reflects the Faculty of Nursing's continued commitment to advancing pediatric nursing practice through scientific research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and active engagement in national and international conferences. Such contributions reinforce BUE's dedication to excellence in education, clinical practice, and innovation while strengthening the role of nursing in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care for children with complex healthcare needs.
