Nursing Faculty Launches the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme - AHA Certified
The Faculty of Nursing at The British University in Egypt (BUE) is pleased to announce the launch of its Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme, Certified by American Heart Association (AHA), commencing on 13 July 2026, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.
As part of the Faculty's ongoing commitment to promoting excellence in healthcare education and professional development, the programme is offered to members of the BUE Nursing community, including:
- Faculty members.
- Teaching assistants.
- Internship students.
- The Quality Assurance Unit.
- The English Language Department.
The initiative aims to strengthen participants' emergency response capabilities by equipping them with internationally recognized knowledge and practical life-saving skills.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is a fundamental training programme that prepares healthcare professionals to recognize and respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, and choking. Through early recognition, timely intervention, and evidence-based resuscitation techniques, BLS plays a critical role in improving patient survival and clinical outcomes.
The programme follows the American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode BLS format and is delivered through a blended learning approach consisting of two integrated components:
- Part I – Online Learning: Participants complete self-paced educational modules, successfully pass the online assessment, and receive a HeartCode Completion Certificate.
- Part II – Hands-on Skills Session: Participants attend a two-hour practical training session, during which they demonstrate and complete the required BLS skills assessment under qualified instructors.
Upon successful completion of both components, participants will receive two internationally recognized certificates issued by the American Heart Association (AHA):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certificate
- HeartCode Completion Certificate
The programme also offers several long-term benefits, including five years of access to the online educational materials for future review and AHA certification valid for TWO YEARS, with the option for renewal upon expiration.
Through initiatives such as the BLS Training Programme, the Faculty of Nursing continues to foster a culture of clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and preparedness among its academic community, ensuring that future healthcare professionals are equipped with the essential competencies needed to provide safe, timely, and effective emergency care.
The Faculty encourages all eligible members of the BUE Nursing community to take advantage of this valuable professional development opportunity and contribute to building a safer healthcare environment through internationally accredited life-support training.
