Senior Data Analyst- Strategy Development Department

Job Purpose

The Senior Data Analyst support the Strategy Development department through establishing a repository of primary and secondary data to support the University's strategic planning cycle. Additionally, he/she will oversee external environment data management and develop financial, economic, market, and competitiveness data analytics.

 

Job Responsibilities

Data and information management

- Collect and record relevant institutional data and information from university academic and professional units and stakeholders.

- Support the design and implementation of a Data Management System for the University, ensuring alignment with best practices, University strategic planning process, quality, and accreditation.

- Create effective dashboards and data visualizations to track and analyze performance indicators.

- Support the design and implementation of university institutional surveys.

- Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with management and stakeholders.

Data Analysis

- Provide expert analysis and present data analytics and information to the Director of Strategy Development and other stakeholders.

- Research and analyze market trends and competitors, presenting findings, projections. Create market insights and recommended strategies.

- Support and develop needed data for risk assessment.

- Develop needed modeling for monitoring and evaluation and reporting.

- Produce and update data and information outputs and analytical monthly/quarterly/annual reports as required.

- Work closely with other members of the Strategy Development Office and interact effectively with people at all levels within the University, processing regular urgent enquiries from senior management.

- Undertake and perform other related duties as required.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Desired:

- BA in Computer Science / Engineering / Economics, Finance, Business/Administration.

Preferred:

- Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent).

 

Experience

- At least (5-7) years of relevant professional work experience in strategic planning, performance management, data and information management.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word etc.) in data analysis and presentation using Power BI or other similar applications.

- Ability to manage, analyze, interpret, and organize complex and large amounts of data.

- Ability to make conceptual links between data and business operation.

- A problem solver and decision maker who strives for continuous improvement.

- Collaborates with other team members to strive for sound outcomes.

- Strong reporting skills.

- Able to think tactically.

- Time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously.
