Recognising Winners of Grace Competition

The British University in Egypt recognises its winners from the “GRACE” Competition.  

The Chair of the Board of Trustees, Ms Farida Khamis, and the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi, have honoured Undergraduate and Postgraduate students who participated in the “Global Anti-Corruption” Competition, in the field of Education and Youth Empowerment "Grace" under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Professor Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the Administrative Control Authority, and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. 

Our students have won Second Place among the ten participating Egyptian governmental and private universities for the best policy paper in the field of anti-corruption, with a research topic on “The Role of Cybersecurity in Combating Corruption.". 

The University also honoured the Faculty supervising members on the research topics participating in the competition, Professor Tamer Al-Damiati, Supervisor at the Public Law Department, Professor Yasmin El-Khodary, Professor at the Department of Political Science, Dr Marwa Zein, Lecturer of Private International Law, Faculty of Law, Programme Director-Professional Master of Cybercrime Investigations and Dr Maha Al-Dejani, Associate Professor of Human Resources. 

During the honouring ceremony, Professor Mohamed Ismail, Advisor to the President of the University, presented the events and activities of “Grace” and discussed the plans and preparation phase for our University students to combat corruption in all its forms. Professor Ismail also mentioned his gratitude that several of the students were qualified to be “Governance Ambassadors” after obtaining training courses at the “Governance Ambassadors” after obtaining training courses at the Governance Institute of the Ministry of Planning. A number of 81 students participated, representing 21 research papers: The Role of Cybersecurity in Combating Corruption, Digitisation and Automation of Services and their Role in Combating Corruption, and Mechanisms to Reduce Corruption in Civil Society.
