The Faculty of Communication & Mass Media welcomed Jean-Marie Villeneuve, French filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist, and Desmond Ovbiagele, award-winning Nigerian director, screenwriter, and producer, for an enriching discussion focused on global cinema, storytelling, and creative expression.

Moderated by Professor Lloyd, the session brought together students, module leaders, and teaching assistants for a dynamic exchange of perspectives, exploring filmmaking across diverse cultural contexts, artistic experimentation, and the role of socially driven narratives in contemporary cinema. The discussion offered valuable insights into international filmmaking practices, broadened participants’ understanding of global cinema, and highlighted the diverse creative voices contributing to the evolving landscape of film.
