Faculty of Engineering Triumphs at RoboGames 2024

The British University in Egypt- Faculty of Engineering has cemented its position as a robotics education leader after a stellar performance at the RoboGames 2024 competition held in San Jose, California, often referred to as the "Olympics of Robots."

Our team, led by Professor Ayman Salah Abbas, Professor of Mechatronics and Robotics and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, displayed exceptional skill and innovation, bringing home an impressive haul of 4 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze. Professor Abbas's technical expertise and leadership, along with the invaluable support of Dr. Mostafa AbdelAziz Ghoz (Lecturer of Robotics), Eng. Omar ElMergawi (Assistant Lecturer of Mechatronics), and Engineer Mohamed Reda (Demonstrator of Mechatronics), proved instrumental in the team's success.

The BUE team's achievements were fueled by the talent and hard work of its student members. The team comprises Abdulla Ahmed Lotfy Mohamed (Year 3, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering), Ahmed Magdi Ahmed Youssef (Year 3, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering), Mohamed Ihab Mohamed Elmetwally (Year 2, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering), Mohamed Wael Hassan Soliman Elshazli (Year 2, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering), Youssef Ali Emadeldin Alseifi (Year 3, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering), and Youssef Mohamed Medhat Abdelhady (Year 2, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering). These bright young minds are sure to be the future leaders in the field of robotics.

The BUE team's impressive performance resulted in a total of 4 medals. They achieved the top honour with a gold medal in the "Best of Show" category. Their skills shone in specific events as well, winning silver medals in both the "Solar Speeder" and "Humanoid Weightlifting" competitions. The team's well-rounded abilities were further demonstrated by their bronze medal in the "Beam Photovore" challenge.
