COP28 Simulation Closing

The British University in Egypt concluded the COP28Simulation Model at the University’s campus in the presence of many ministers, dignitaries, partners and most notably students from around the globe who voted on the resolutions they have been debating throughout the process. It was a joy to hear their final statements.
The three partners in the initiative. The British University in Egypt, UNDP Egypt and Zayed Uni were joined by a host of attendees, amongst them H.E. Dr Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, H.E. Professor Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for Egypt, H.E. Professor Mahmoud Mohieldin and Mr Alessandro Fracassetti, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Also in attendance was Dr Sarah El-Khishin the Head of the COP Simulation Model, Dr Abeer Shakweer the Assistant Resident Representative of UNDP - Egypt, and Dr Suzanna Al-Masah, Director of the Sustainability program at Zayed University.
President and Vice-Chancellor of The British University in Egypt, Professor Mohamed Loutfi, hosted and gave the opening speech.
Attendees were also treated to inspiring speeches by Board of Trustees member, H.E. Ambassador Amre Moussa, H.E. Minister Sobhi, H.E. Minister Fouad, H.E. Professor Moheildin, Mr. Fracassetti, Dr. Sarah El-Khishin and student delegates.


The initiative is under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the British Embassy in Egypt, the COP27-United Nations Climate Change Conference Presidency and the United Nations Climate Change High-Level Champion for Egypt, H.E. Professor Mahmoud Mohieldin.
