Head of the Student Life Centre
Job Purpose
The Head of the Student Life Centre is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Student Life Centre to enhance our students’ experience and satisfaction. They will ensure efficient workflows, control the quality of academic and professional service provision, and seeking continuous improvement of processes. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising various operational activities to meet objectives and achieve optimal productivity levels. Working with students and staff, and applying creative and positive solutions to issues arising is a key part of the role.
Job Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating, and developing a team of operational staff, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
- Managing daily operations to ensure the effective and efficient performance of services supporting academic and other aspects of student life.
- Address and resolve problems, manage complaints, and proactively respond to issues.
- Following up on enquiries from students and other stakeholders through face to face and digital engagement.
- Establishing and monitor KPIs for operational effectiveness, quality, and productivity.
- Follow up on the technical inquiries concerning the requirements of the students.
- Gathering feedback to refine and improve operational processes.
- Maintaining an understanding of institutional policies, regulations, and best practices related to student life.
- Creating and maintaining students' improvement process and tracking system.
- Performing any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proven experience in an operational management role.
Technical Skills
- Demonstrate strong student life and engagement skills on a university level.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using project management and operations software (e.g., ERP, CRM, MS Office Suite).
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
