Professor George Abi Saab Guides the Faculty of Law’s Visionary New Research

The British University in Egypt (BUE) remains steadfast in its strategic objective to generate a positive, tangible impact on the global stage. In line with this mission, the Faculty of Law recently elevated its pursuit of academic excellence by engaging in a profound scholarly dialogue with the world-renowned international legal scholar, Professor George Abi Saab.

Over two hours of intense and inspiring discussion, Professor Ibrahim Salama, Dean of the Faculty of Law, solicited the invaluable views and guidance of Professor Abi Saab regarding the Human Rights Research and Training Centre’s (HRRTC) latest research project, titled:

"Restoring Faith and Impact of Human Rights: Reform, Reformation, or Revolution?"

A Visionary Foreword for an Essential Publication

The profound insights and guidance generously shared by Professor Abi Saab will constitute the foreword of an upcoming landmark BUE publication on this critical theme.

The urgency of this research cannot be overstated. As international human rights law increasingly loses ground amid global challenges, the Faculty of Law believes that creative, rigorous efforts must be intensified to reform and revitalize its mechanisms. If seized correctly, global crises can serve as vital windows of opportunity; the alternative is irreparable damage to the international rule of law.

Through high-level collaborations such as this, the BUE continues to position itself at the forefront of global legal discourse, aiming for meaningful, systemic change.

Stay tuned for the release of this upcoming publication.
