The Faculty of Arts & Humanities Launches MA Programme in TESOL
The Faculty of Arts & Humanities is launching its new MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), a postgraduate programme designed to prepare graduates for dynamic careers in English language teaching, curriculum design, educational leadership, and language assessment in Egypt and internationally.
The two-year programme combines advanced theoretical knowledge with practical teaching expertise, equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly expanding global field. Students complete 42 credit hours, including specialised coursework in areas such as Second Language Acquisition, Teaching Methodology and Materials Development, Language Testing and Assessment, and TESOL Research Methods, followed by a supervised research thesis.
Graduates of the programme will be well positioned to pursue careers as English language instructors, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, educational consultants, and language assessment specialists in schools, universities, language centres, and international educational organisations.
Open to applicants holding a BA in English, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, the programme also offers flexible scheduling, with classes potentially held in the late afternoon or on weekends to support working professionals.
Through this new MA, BUE continues its commitment to developing highly skilled educators capable of shaping the future of English language education.
