Facilities Technology & Systems Supervisor - Estate and Facilities Management
Job Purpose
The Facilities Technology & Systems Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance for systems such as but not limited to CCTV, access control, facial recognition, parking and gate systems, QR-code access and dormitory access systems, ensuring their effective operation, reliability, integration and continuous improvement are in alignment with approved technical standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the technical focal point between Estates and Facilities, IT, relevant operational teams, and external service providers for the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrading of facilities technology systems.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive plan for the University's facilities technology systems and identify related technical requirements.
- Identify and assess technical requirements and recommend appropriate system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements.
- Develop and implement operation and maintenance procedures for facilities technology and monitoring systems.
- Prepare and manage the facilities systems budget in coordination with relevant departments.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, integration, testing of facilities technology systems, including CCTV, access control, facial recognition, parking and gate systems, and related technologies.
- Ensure the system connectivity and storage/recording systems according to standards.
- Develop and monitor a preventive maintenance schedule and facilities software updates and upgrades.
- Monitor the performance of facilities systems, promptly address any technical failures, vulnerabilities, and intervene to mitigate them.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely resolution of system-related issues.
- Prepare periodic technical reports on system status and technical suggestions for performance improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, configurations, modifications, maintenance activities, and related records.
- Identify opportunities for digitalisation, system integration, automation, and continuous improvement of facilities-related technology and processes.
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure maintenance and warranty are delivered effectively.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by line manager.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Proficiency in project management and technical report writing.
- Preferred to be familiar with international safety standards and security systems (e.g., ISO 27001, among others).
