The Department of Economics at the British University in Egypt had the privilege of hosting Professor Adel A. Beshai, who delivered a captivating lecture on the history of the oil industry and its profound connection to the global agricultural sector.
Professor Beshai offered fascinating insights into the fluctuations in oil prices and their far-reaching impact on economies, both in Egypt and across the world. Students were particularly intrigued by his personal reflections on meeting former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and the geopolitical discussions they shared.
Following the lecture, Professor Beshai generously spent an hour engaging with students from the Departments of Economics and Political Science, answering questions and sparking thought-provoking discussions.
