Legal Aspects of Digital Transformation

"Opportunities and Challenges"

The Faculty of Law at The British University in Egypt was proud to organise the third edition of the annual conference, Legal Aspects of Digital Transformation “Opportunities and Challenges."

The conference commenced, under the auspices of Professor Mohamed Loutfi, President and Vice-Chancellor of our University, and under the supervision of Professor Hassan Abdelhamid, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and in the presence and participation of an esteemed plethora of eminent figures including Counselor Abdel Wahhab Abdel Razek, President of the Senate and Mostaqbal Watan Party, Counselor Mohamed Abdel Mohsen, Chairman of the Egyptian Judges’ Club, Counselor Tariq Ali Kamel, Assistant Minister of Justice for Technical Development and Information Center Affairs, H.E. Professor Mohamed Salem, Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Professor El Sayed Abdel Khalek, Former Minister of Higher Education, Chairman of the Law Faculties Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, Parliament member Mr. Ahmed Badawy, Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Communications Committee in the House of Representatives, Professor Yehia Bahei El-Din, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Enterprise, and Professor Wael Kortam, Director of Advanced Marketing Research Centre at The British University in Egypt. 

The conference, held on the 17th and 18th of June, was part of the Faculty of Law's ongoing effort to provide students and researchers with the most up-to-date legislation, judicial developments, and updates. The sessions discussed various topics, including the Legal Dimensions of Digital Transformation in Diverse Sectors, the Legal Approach to Civil Rights and Transactions in a Technology-Oriented World, Digital Markets: Economics and Legal Perspectives, Digital Policies and Regulations Design in the Era of Digital Transformation (with an emphasis on Substantive and Procedural Law), Compliance and Law Enforcement Challenges, and the New Types and Concepts of Crimes in a Digitally Transformed World.
