Business Operations Specialist
Job Purpose
The Business Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of university events, space rental activities, and assisting in travel-related operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end event logistics, including scheduling, venue setup, registration, and on-site execution in alignment with the university’s events calendar.
- Act as central liaison between stakeholders and vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to contracts.
- Prepare post-event reports and evaluations.
- Coordinate with Estate and Facilities, Security, and IT teams to ensure spaces are properly prepared and equipped.
- Coordinate basic travel arrangements, requests, and documentations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for processes, systems, and service delivery.
- Maintain and update the university events calendar, ensuring alignment and avoidance of scheduling conflicts
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business
- Administration, Marketing, Hospitality
- Management, or a related field
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in events
- coordination, operations, or similar roles
Technical Skills
- Familiarity in venue booking, space management, or facilities coordination is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel,
- PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail
