Videographer- Video Editor- Marketing Communications Department
Job Purpose
The Videographer / Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video projects from concept to final delivery that support the University's branding and institutional communications. The role involves filming, editing, and delivering engaging multimedia content for a wide range of university activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Videography:
- Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality video content including promotional videos, interviews, product demos, and social media clips for major University activities.
- Set up and operate cameras, lighting, sound, and other production equipment.
- Capture B-roll footage and on-site content as needed.
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance and organization.
Video Editing:
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging final videos.
- Apply color correction, sound design, music, graphics, and transitions.
- Adapt video formats for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, website, etc.).
- Maintain brand consistency with the University’s communication strategy across all video outputs.
Creative & Organizational:
- Contribute ideas for concept development, storyboards, and shot lists.
- Collaborate effectively with marketing and communications teams and across Faculties.
- Manage multiple video projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain and organize video archives, digital assets, and production files for easy retrieval and reuse.
- Respond effectively to urgent or last-minute multimedia requests while maintaining quality and production standards.
- Keep up-to-date with new editing techniques and content trends.
- Perform Additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Media, Mass Communications, or a related field (optional).
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in videography and video editing within a corporate or educational environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Experience working in marketing, social media, or creative production environments.
- Photography skills are an added advantage.
- Understanding of social media content trends and formats.
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience as a videographer and editor (portfolio required).
- Proficiency in editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
- Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, and audio recording.
- Knowledge of color grading and sound mixing.
- Experience with motion graphics (After Effects or similar) is a plus.
- Strong creativity and visual storytelling ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content formats.
