Senior Career Advisor- Career Centre
Job Purpose
The Senior Career Advisor is responsible for supporting the operational delivery of the University’s career and employability services with a primary focus on career advising, coaching, and student career readiness. The role works alongside other Career Centre colleagues to ensure students across all faculties receive high-quality guidance, access to career development resources, and timely support in preparing for internships and employment opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured career coaching and guidance sessions for students across all faculties.
- Provide one-to-one career consultations covering CV development, interview preparation, career planning, and personal branding.
- Design and deliver career readiness workshops addressing employability skills, job search strategies, internship preparation, and professional networking.
- Develop and maintain career resources, toolkits, and employability materials to support student career development.
- Engage with HR leaders, recruiters, and industry partners to strengthen collaboration between BUE and the labor market.
- Represent the university at industry forums, recruitment events, and professional networking platforms to promote BUE graduates and strengthen institutional partnerships.
- Monitor platform usage, generate reports, and identify opportunities to enhance digital career support services.
- Lead the planning and execution of major employability initiatives, including the Annual Career Fair, Career Week, and Employer engagement events.
- Organize regular career-related activities such as employer presentations, networking events, and industry panels.
- Collaborate with faculties to ensure high student participation in career development initiatives.
- Prepare periodic reports highlighting program impact, employer engagement activities, and student participation metrics.
- Identify opportunities to enhance employability services and continuously improve career support offerings.
- Provide career insights and labor market feedback to support program development and graduate employability outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with Business Administration and Human Resources.
- Preferably holding a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Career Development, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 6–8 years of professional experience in career services, student employability, recruitment, HR, or higher education.
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in building employer partnerships and managing career development initiatives.
- Experience organizing employability activities such as workshops, career events, employer sessions, or student engagement programs.
- Experience working with career development platforms or student information systems is preferred.
