Research Assistant – Biology Lab
Job Purpose
Research Assistant at NTRC is tasked with supporting research by assisting in laboratory analysis, quality control, data management across various scientific disciplines including Microbiological culturing and isolation, Molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, cloning, sequencing), Virology techniques (virus propagation, titration, purification), Cellular and tissue culture, Biochemical assays. The role demands a high level of technical proficiency to process and interpret complex data, maintain laboratory equipment, and contribute to research publications and presentations.
Job Responsibilities
Applying laboratory techniques and equipment, including but not limited to:
Microbiological culturing and isolation, Molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, cloning, sequencing), Virology techniques (virus propagation, titration, purification), Cellular and tissue culture, Biochemical assays.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Desired:
- M.Sc. in Microbiology and Virology / Biotechnology.
- At least two publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Preferred:
- PhD Candidate enrolled in a program related to the following fields:
- Microbiology and Virology.
- Biotechnology.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using statistical software and bioinformatics tools.
Experience
Desired:
- Participated in previous research projects.
- At least 1 year of experience.
