Head of Student Activities and Engagement- DVC for the Student Journey
Job Purpose
The Head of Student Activities and Engagement is responsible for managing and coordinating student engagement initiatives across the university. This includes operational oversight of the Student Union, sports activities, student clubs, and community service programs. The role ensures that student journeys are vibrant, inclusive, and aligned with the university’s mission.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement student engagement strategies and programs as directed.
- Manage day-to-day operations of student activities, including Student Union support, sports programs, clubs, and cultural events.
- Provide guidance and support to the Student Union, ensuring effective governance and representation.
- Supervise the Student Activities team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics, facilities, and resources to meet student needs and support a variety of extracurricular activities.
- Coordinate a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including cultural events, workshops, and clubs.
- Promote student-led initiatives and provide necessary support and resources.
- Develop partnerships with local organisations to facilitate community service opportunities.
- Encourage student participation in outreach programs that foster social responsibility.
- Lead and manage the Student Activities team, providing professional development opportunities.
- Prepare and manage budgets for student activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Establish metrics to assess the impact of student activities on engagement and satisfaction.
- Undertake various additional tasks assigned by the line manager.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in student activities or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
