Freelance Graphic Designer - Marketing Communications

Job Purpose

The Graphic Designer develops and delivers creative visual content that supports the university's branding, communication, and marketing objectives across digital and print platforms, producing high-quality designs that strengthen brand identity and effectively communicate key messages to target audiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and edit visual materials for digital and print use, including logos, illustrations, advertisements, social media visuals, brochures, roll-ups, pop-ups, banners, posters, presentations and other promotional items to support campaigns and projects.
  • Support event branding by designing backdrops, signage, invitations, and promotional assets.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with the university’s brand guidelines and communication standards.
  • Review and update existing design materials to improve visual appeal and relevance.
  • Ensure all final outputs meet quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Stay updated on design trends, digital media, and visual communication practices.
  • Support the execution of design projects from concept to final production.
  • Collaborate with faculties and departments to receive design briefs, understand requirements, and deliver creative solutions.
  • Coordinate with printing vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality production of design materials.
  • Organise and maintain design files, templates, and artwork archives.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia, or related field.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in graphic design, creative design, or visual communication.
  • Experience in corporate, educational, or agency environments is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Portfolio demonstrating creative work across digital and print media.
