BUE Hosts “University Friends & Alumni Suhoor” and Announces New Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Manage
The British University in Egypt brought together ministers, diplomats, alumni, and distinguished partners for the “University Friends & Alumni Suhoor” on 4 March 2026, a Ramadan gathering that celebrated the strength of the university’s growing community while marking an important new milestone in its academic journey.
Held under the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Loutfi MBE, President of The British University in Egypt, the event was attended by Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Domestic Trade; and Dr. Ahmed Tarek Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, alongside prominent public figures and members of the university’s Board of Trustees.
During the evening, the University announced the launch of its Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, developed in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Starting in September 2026, the faculty will offer internationally aligned programmes in Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage Management and Hospitality and Event Management, enabling graduates to obtain a dual degree recognised in both Egypt and the UK.
Held in collaboration with the BUE Alumni Office, the Suhoor also brought together graduates from across the university’s generations, including Dr. Amr Seda, Founder of the Alumni Office and BUE’s first graduate, reflecting the lasting connections that continue to unite the university community.
More than a Ramadan gathering, the evening stood as a powerful reminder of the university’s expanding influence, bringing together leadership, alumni, and partners to celebrate shared achievements while shaping the next chapter of BUE’s academic and societal impact.
