Dorms and Staff Residence Supervisor- Estate and Facilities Department
Job Purpose
The Dorms Male Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and welfare of students/staff within the male dormitories to ensure a safe, disciplined, and supportive living environment. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and order, ensuring compliance with university regulations, and addressing student/staff residence needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise all activities within the male dormitories, ensuring compliance with university rules and regulations.
- Monitor student/staff residence conduct and promote a respectful and responsible environment.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure dorms meet health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Report maintenance needs and follow up with the facilities and related parties for timely resolution.
- Assist in managing room allocations, check-in, and check-out processes.
- Address students’ concerns and escalate issues to the line manager when needed.
- Support in implementing dormitory policies, emergency procedures, and disciplinary measures.
- Ensure all security and access control procedures are properly followed.
- Participate in emergency response activities and assist during crises.
- Maintain accurate records, including student and staff data, incident reports, and inspection logs.
- Support orientation and awareness programs for the dorm to foster a positive living experience.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Social Services, Hospitality, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in residence supervision, hospitality, or facility operations.
- Experience working with university students or in a higher education setting is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to handle disciplinary issues with fairness and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Capability to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools.
