Alumni Engagement Specialist- Alumni and Advancement Depatment

Job Purpose

The Alumni Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting all marketing-related activities within the alumni department. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who is eager to contribute to the promotion of alumni engagement initiatives through various marketing channels. He/She will assist in the development of marketing materials, digital campaigns, and social media strategies to effectively communicate with alumni and promote alumni events and programs.

Job Responsibilities

- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote alumni engagement and participation in university initiatives.

- Create and distribute marketing materials, including newsletters, flyers, and email campaigns, to alumni and other stakeholders.

- Manage the alumni department's social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement with followers.

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather content and information for marketing materials and campaigns.

- Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing efforts using analytics tools and provide recommendations for improvement.

- Assist in the planning and execution of alumni events and activities, including promotional efforts and on-site support.

- Maintain the alumni department's marketing calendar and ensure timely delivery of marketing materials and communications.

- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in marketing, social media, and digital communication strategies.

- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and goals of the alumni department.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

Experience

- At least 2-4 years’ experience in marketing, social media management, or digital communications.

Technical Skills

- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Good knowledge of videography and photography including graphic design and video editing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
