The Entrepreneurship and Business Unit at the Business Administration Department has organized a live discussion about the “Impact of Social Media on MSME’s performance in Egypt” based on a research conducted by Prof. Hadia FakhrElDin, Dr. Rania Menisi and Mr. Ahmed Ayman.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Hala Hattab and hosted Prof. Hadia FakhrEldin and from the Industry Dr. Manal Negm Eldin, Head of Direct Channels at Elaraby Group, BUE Alumna Ms. Lamia Khattab, founder of Sprint Activewear and Mr. Mostafa Magdi founder of Palma. The online discussion started by Prof. Hadia presenting the research questions, the methodology followed to test the hypothesis, findings and implications for both research and practice. Followed by Dr. Manal presenting how Elaraby integrated the social media into their strategies to extend its outreach, then Lamia and Moustafa shared their experiences using social media in conducting their businesses. The session lasted for two hours and was attended by both academics and non-academics who were engaged with the panellists through questions and comments.
This live discussion is the first in a series of discussions the Unit is intending to organize in bridge the gap between academic and practice in the field of entrepreneurship and MSMEs.
