As a continuation of the British University in Egypt’s policy of providing community services at all levels, under the patronage of Mrs. Farida Khamis, chairman of the board of trustees. Faculty of Pharmacy-BUE under the auspices of Prof. Mohey Elmazar, Dean of the Faculty, and in cooperation with the businessmen club (Rotary-Egypt), carried out a medical convoy on Friday 9/7/2021, to Qorsaya village at Giza governorate.
The aim of this convoy is to provide medical services and health care awareness to the citizens of this highly needed village. This was done under the supervision of Dr. Noha Gamaleldin and Dr. Moataz Sobhy with the participation of 18 of the faculty students representing members of Pharmacy students’ union, EPSF and CSED Committee, in addition to the participation of 5 Pharmacy graduates.
Medical examinations were provided to the residents of the village in the specialties of internal medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, orthopedics, allergy and immunology, rheumatic diseases, and people with special needs, beside doing several medical tests. Faculty of Pharmacy students and graduates were responsible for organizing the pharmacy, dispensing a large number of medical prescriptions (about 350), carrying out random blood glucose test, offering patient counselling in many public and women health issues to more than 500 persons.
