The Faculty of Dentistry at the British University in Egypt organized the International Conference on Oral and Dental Medicine, which discussed for two days, the most recent technologies in the world, with participation and attendance of 3300 scientists and researchers from 63 countries around the world including the United States, Britain, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Poland, Brazil and India. Prof.Dr. Ahmed Hamad, President of the British University, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the British University, opened the activities of the conference, in which local and international experts and academics participated via the Internet with video technology due to the current Corona virus pandemic (novel covid-19) .
Prof.Dr. Ahmed Hamad, President of the British University in Egypt, expressed his appreciation for this important international conference, stressing that the International Conference of Oral and Dental Medicine organized by the Faculty of Dentistry at the British University in Egypt is one of the largest scientific platforms specialized in dental technology, in addition to being a forum for discussions and lectures And the open sessions for the exchange of ideas provided by the conference for scientists, experts, doctors and specialists, whether from Egypt or different countries of the world. He praised the success of the conference and the attendance rate of its participants, which confirms the progress and attendance of the British University in Egypt on the international scientific scene.
Prof.Dr. Tarek Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry said: “The Faculty of Dentistry at the British University in Egypt is a pioneering college in the fields of education, scientific research and community service, and given the current conditions accompanying this pandemic, the college adopted the initiative to establish the first international scientific conference Free of charge, through video conference participation, as a contribution from the university to support the scientific community in the fields of dentistry.” He added: “This conference was fully organized electronically from the correspondence stage with the lecturers to the stage of accredited certificates.” He pointed out that the activities of the conference continued for two days, as each day included 12 hours of lectures via the Internet. In Addition, the organizing committee of the conference also announced the second college conference in 2022.
Prof.Dr. Shehab Saber, head of endodontic department and secretary of the conference, pointed out that the conference’s activities included the participation of 22 lecturers from professors and scientists from more than ten different countries in the world. In addition to that the scientific program of the conference included a part for the research of young researchers in Egyptian and Arab universities. He indicated that the lectures that were organized during the conference included all branches of dentistry such as (conservative cosmetic treatment, root treatment, pediatric dentistry, dental implants, oral and maxillofacial surgery, in addition to modern digital treatment techniques). He added that the conference had present accredited certificates from the British University in Egypt to the participated researchers . On the sidelines of the conference, a competition was held for the final year students to display some clinical cases, as an effort by the college to motivate students under the current conditions.
