The British University in Egypt provides various facilities to help support the students on campus achieve their maximum learning and social life potential.
The University is located on a large purpose-built campus on the outskirts of Cairo. It has well equipped facilities to support the delivery of its academic programs.
Library
In April 2015, the BUE officially opened a new State-Of-The-Art purpose built Library building which provides variety of services to students and academic staff using the most effective media for the acquisition and dissemination of information. The Library has a wide-ranging collection of texts and references which are accessible via the latest library databases.
The Library provides training and guidance to enable students to gain the greatest benefit from its collection of print and e-resources. BUE has a digital library with international journals for all academic programs and special interests.
The Library also provides off-campus access to all electronic resources and the catalog to support independent study via the Library Website.
E-Learning
The E-learning facility is an online system that allows students and staff to communicate effectively. Students can access it from their homes as well as on campus. It allows students continuously to follow up on their studies. It also allows them to submit assignments online and receive their grades for tasks and assignments as well. It provides all the necessary documents for each module, including module outlines, required reading materials, recommended additional reading lists and even tips on how to study successfully. Above all, it supports independent learning.
IT Open Access Laboratories
IT facilities are available for students outside class hours to work on any assignments, projects or group study. Computer labs are always accessible during University working hours, and IT staff members are always present to assist students who need help with the computer.

The role of student support services
The University seeks to promote a supportive and enriching environment to encourage students’ intellectual excellence, leadership skills, and professional capabilities, as well as a commitment to the community. It does this by offering a wide range of student support services, including provision for physical health, emotional well being and social engagement.
Personal Tutoring
When students enter the Preparatory Year Programme they are allocated a Personal Tutor to guide and support them through their programme of study.
English Writing Centre
The Writing Centre assists undergraduate students to develop the writing skills required for their academic programmes including essays, writing for projects, and research. It also creates an informal and supportive environment in which students can bring questions to support tutors in one-to-one sessions.
Careers Service
The Careers Service provides a student support service to undergraduates and Alumni including curriculum vitae writing, job search skills, interview preparation, mock interviews, networking, as well as the development of Employability Skills required by successful graduates. It also supports students in obtaining internships and work experience placements.
Annual Internship and Careers Fair
An annual employment/ Internship fair is held on campus for BUE students to obtain the best career opportunities possible. The fair is for both graduates and students and provides an opportunity to meet representatives of companies seeking to hire and train fresh graduates and students.
Welfare Counseling Service
A Student Welfare Counsellor provides a professional service on a confidential basis to individual students who are experiencing personal difficulties which may affect their studies.

Students are also encouraged to participate in youth conferences in Egypt and around the world with support from the University.
Sports and Recreational Facilities
BUE offers a great variety of recreational and cultural trips, competitive sports and activities for students’ participation and enjoyment. Sports facilities include football, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts as well as a swimming pool.
Student Union
BUE has active Student Unions in each faculty. Students can run for one of the officer positions in the BUE Student Unions through annual elections. This allows them to represent students and make a contribution to the governance of the University.
Shuttle bus service
A fleet of air-conditioned Mercedes buses is available to transport students to and from the campus from different areas in Cairo.

Shuttle Golf Cars within the Campus
The University provides 6 shuttle golf cars with the capacity of 14 Students/Staff in each car. This service facilitates the flow of the students’ movements within the Campus boundaries.
BUE Ambulance
BUE offers an ambulance which obtains all necessary medications and equipment, it is available to transport emergency cases to the nearest hospital.

Student dormitories
Student dormitories are available for students who want to move closer to campus or for international students.
Our dorms are right next to campus in a closed compound called Nakheel Residence.
Networked and air conditioned dorms are provided for female and male students.
There is a weekly shuttle bus for shopping and 24 hour security and emergency cover.
