Mai received her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in 2009 from Cairo University with a very good degree. She received her M.Sc. in January 2013 in the topic of ‘Reuse of the Product Obtained on Grinding Kiln Rollers in the Manufacture of Ceramic Wall Tiles'. Currently she is enrolled as an assistant lecturer in the Chemical Engineering Department in the British University. She finished her Pre-Ph.D. courses from Cairo University in 2014 with a grade of A- and GPA of 3.9 and also finished the qualifying exam. She received her PhD. in January 2017 in the topic of ‘Reuse of Ceramic Kiln Rollers Waste in the Manufacture of  Membranes for Nanofiltration'.
