Prof. Ghali earned his B.Sc. in Electronics and Computer Engineering in 1983 from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain-Shams University, followed by M.Sc. in 1988 from the same University in “Analysis and Design of Fine-Line Circulator”. During the period 1983-1988 Prof. Ghali was appointed as teaching assistant in the Electronics and Communications Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain-Shams University. In 1989 he got a study leave from Ain-Sham University and joined the National Institute of Applied Sciences, Rennes, France studying towards his PhD degree in planar electromagnetic systems. In 1992 Prof. Ghali earned his Ph.D. in “Dynamic Analysis of Two and Three Dimensional Discontinuities and Interconnections using the Integral Equation Technique”. Since 1992 Prof. Ghali is with the Electronics and Communications Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain-Shams University as an assistant professor, then as an associate professor and finally, in March 2005, as a full professor in microwave systems and antennas. Since September 2005 Prof. Ghali is in leave from Ain Shams University, where he joined Akhbar Elyom Academy leading the Electrical Engineering Department for two years. In September 2007 Prof. Ghali joined the BUE to establish the Electrical Engineering Department, where he was involved in the establishment of the Electrical Engineering Department, through the development of an up-to-date curriculum. As the founding Head of the department, he led the efforts towards the validation of the Electrical Engineering programme by Loughborough University, and continued to lead the Department until August 2011. In September 2011, Prof. Ghali was appointed Associate Dean, and in September 2013 was appointed as the Vice Dean for Teaching and Learning
