Gina Wael was one of the top students in her class. Her dissertation examined the issue of politicising labour migration as an economic tool between Saudi Arabia and Yemen at the wake of the second Gulf War.

She interned at the League of Arab States (LAS) in the department of the Americas in summer 2015. She also worked at Al-Ahram Centre for Strategic and Political Studies in summer 2016. Along those, she was interested in participating in various extracurricular activities like ISLC, MUN, MBP and MAL. 

Currently, she is an M.A. candidate at Suez Canal University, Egypt.
