Professor Husam Khalil has a long teaching experience, as he was involved in teaching since 1983, the year of his graduation. He taught at a number of academic institutes including Assiut University, Military Technical College, Helwan University, Jordan University, 10th of Ramadan Institute of Technology, King Abdul Aziz University, and finally British University in Egypt (BUE). He participated in teaching a number of courses including Architectural presentation, building construction, working drawings, architectural design, graduation project, computer applications in architecture (2D and 3D), environment & behavior, visual design, freehand drawing, 3D Max, web site design (front page), multimedia (Adobe director, flash), descriptive geometry, sciagraphy & perspective, sustainable building design using Autodesk EcoTect analysis, and scientific research methods in architectures. He supervised a number of master thesis and Doctorate dissertations. He reviewed a number of research papers for different conferences and research periodicals. Professor Husam was awarded a number of research and teaching grants including teaching assistantship Grant from Jordan University, Peace Fellowship grant at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Joint Supervision Grant. He held a number of academic and administrative responsibilities including academic advisory, lab equipment specifications, preparation of graduate program curriculum, and committee for academic affairs. As for practice, he designed a number of private villas, apartment buildings, compounds, commercial buildings. He participated in the preparation of working drawings of a number of large projects including Tanta Hospital (1000 bed), landscape working drawings for King Abdullah University residences. He also participated in the design of a number of academic Buildings in King Abdul Aziz University including the preparatory year complex (8 buildings). He participated in some design competitions including Knowledge Park design competition, King Abdul Aziz University, and increasing mataf capacity competition, Almasjid Alharam, Holy Mecca, Ministry of Higher education, KSA.
