Prof. Mohamed Esmat ElAttar Graduated June 1984 from Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, (Egypt), “Very Good”. Received Master degree in Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture titled “The Effect of Vegetation in Landscape Design of Egyptian Cities- An Analytical Study”, Assiut University, March 1990. Received Ph.D. in Environmental and Landscape Architecture, Assiut University, Faculty of Engineering (Egypt) and Duke University, School of Environment, North Carolina (USA), titled “Vegetation Role in Improving Environmental Performance in Egyptian City” February 1996. Worked as a Demonstrator and Teaching Assistant in Assiut University, Visiting Scholar, School of the Environment, Duke University, North Carolina, USA, (1993-1995). Professor and Head of the Architectural Department, Mansoura University (2009- 2011). Dean of the Higher Institute for Technology and Engineering (Oraby), (2011- 2012). At the present time working as a Professor of Architecture, British University in EGYPT (BUE). Published several research papers in Environmental Landscape, Architectural Heritage Conservation and Architectural Education. Attended, reviewed and presented scientific papers in national and international conferences. Supervising more than 10 Ph. D., and M. Sc. Students in Mansoura, Cairo, Assiut, Al Azhar, and Tanta University. A member of Scientific Committees for some national/international journals. Awarded the Second Prize in two Architectural Competitions: Mubarak Medical Institute for Cancer Treatment- Faculty of Medicine- Zigzag University. And Institute of Electronics, Academy of Scientific Research, Ministry of Higher Education.
