Ms. Aya Elshahawi graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature; Faculty of Arts; Ain Shams University. She completed her M.A in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo. She is currently a PhD student in the field of Applied Linguistics; her main research interest is in critical discourse analysis. She constantly attends conferences and workshops. She is a member of the Nile TESOL and TESOL International Association.
Ms. Elshahawi has taught ESL from 2006 to 2010. She then joined BUE as an assistant lecturer and started teaching English for academic purposes. She was also a member in the BUE - Preparatory Core Group (September 2010 - September 2014) and the Staff Development Core Group (September 2013 – September 2014) and the Writing Centre Core Group (September 2014 – August 2015). Currently, she is the eLearning coordinator in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and she is teaching in the Department of English Language and Literature. She annually delivers induction sessions on how to use the eLearning for both instructors and students.
