Prof. Wael Abdelrazek Ahmed Kortam

Prof. Kortam has published a large number of reviewed academic articles in top world class academic journals and conferences and is one of the highly sighted researchers in business research according to Scopus, Google scholar and SSRN (enclosed all relevant statistics), he also serves as a member of editorial board and reviewer of top academic marketing and business journals. In 2003 and 2012 won best marketing paper award by Emerald. He has published one chapter on marketing research in the Middle East in an international business text book in the USA and one of the contributors to the 2020 global edition of the top world class marketing research text book by Professor Naresh Malhotra published by Pearson where he was honoured by the British ambassador to Egypt for this contribution. He has also authored 6 advanced marketing research books between 2010 and 2020. His research interests focus mainly on marketing research, marketing theory and philosophy, strategic marketing management, marketing of service, marketing information systems, and marketing and branding of universities. Prof. Kortam has served as a supervisor and an examiner for a very large number of doctoral and master thesis in Egyptian, British, French, German, and Swiss universities.

Prof. Kortam has been Involved since 1988 in teaching business and marketing courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels focusing only on the areas of business research methodology, marketing research, marketing philosophy and theory, business information systems, marketing management, strategic marketing, and strategic management. Since 1998 involved in professional training for business and marketing executives across Egypt, the middle east, Europe, Africa, and USA in various business and marketing topics.

He has his own marketing research consultancy firm involved in designing and implementing all kinds of marketing systems in companies in Egypt, the Middle East, USA, and Europe. Has conducted almost seventy consultancy project with emphasis on marketing feasibility studies, promotion effectiveness studies, strategic marketing systems, demand and sales forecasting, design and implementation of marketing information systems, and organizational developments.

Between 2002 up to 2021, Prof. Kortam has served as marketing and/or consultant to a large number of universities in Egypt including MIU, Cairo University, GUC, Heliopolis, and University of Canada through recommending and leading the implementation of branding plans to augment their competitive advantage in a highly globalized, deregulated and customized higher education industry and market. He co-founded the joint bachelor program between College Of Business Cairo University and College Of Business Georgia state University since 2008. He also founded the joint sports management diploma with the FIFA, international centre for sports studies, Neuchatel University Switzerland and College of Business Cairo University since 2007. Actively involved fundraising and community development through prestigious grand organizations such as the British council, European Union, USAID, JAICA, and CIDA.
