Ms. Youstina graduated from the British University in Egypt as the first of her class with distinction and honours in 2019. Her dissertation was a comparative analysis of Chinese and US discourses and practices in Sub-Saharan Africa since 2000. As the valedictorian of her class, she was awarded a full scholarship at the BUE.
As an undergraduate student, she has interned at various institutions: the Africa Center at the British University in Egypt (2018), League of Arab States (2017), Maat for peace, development and human rights Organisation (2017), Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs (2016). She has also participated in extracurricular activities at Cairo University: STP, ALMUN & Model of American Congress. In 2016, she was chosen as an ikteshaaf fellow - Fellowship in Civic Leadership. After graduating from the fellowship, she was asked to join ikteshaaf as a project officer, where she worked for three months on building a value-based curriculum. In October 2017, she was chosen to represent the BUE at the Nuclear Forum taking place in Cairo, Egypt and in November 2017, she represented the BUE at the Annual Amman Security Colloquium in Amman, Jordan. She has volunteered as a mentor at AMIDEAST Egypt in 2018 and at the Catholic Relief Services in 2019 before joining the BUE.
Nationally, she won fourth place at the UCMAS competition held in Egypt in 2006. Internationally, in 2016, she was chosen globally among 360 participants by World Merit Organisation, in partnership with the UN, to participate in Merit360 program in New York City. The program aimed at creating Action Plan 001 that tackles the UN SDGs. She focused on tackling SDG 4-Quality Education, where she worked on a project in Nepal. In 2017, her team’s project for the Syrian refugees in Jordan was nominated at the Hult Prize competition to the semi-final round held in Dubai.
Currently, she is pursuing her Master's Degree in Public Policy (MPP) at the American University in Cairo (AUC). In February 2021, she was chosen to represent the AUC at the NASPAA international competition. She is currently also a volunteer member at a local NGO named, Beyt El-7ayah.
