Nouran is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Economics, faculty of BAEPS. She graduated in 2013 from the faculty of management technology in the German University in Cairo, majors of Economics and Innovation Technology with total grade of Excellent with highest honors. In 2016, she acquired her Master’s degree in economics and politics from Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. Her dissertation was about “Demographic and socio-economic characteristics of micro-loans recipients in Cairo: An empirical study”. She has around 5 years of field experience in poverty reduction and economic empowerment of marginalized categories in the context of local NGOs and international organizations as well as freelance consultations. Also, she has academic experience in teaching economics on a professional and volunteering basis.
She has finished the introductory courses of the PhD of economics in the faculty of economics and political sciences in Cairo University and she is currently working on writing her PhD dissertation proposal. Nouran is interested in institutional and development economics especially when it comes to tackling problems in the Middle East and Egypt.
