Bethan O’Neil is an experienced higher education professional, having worked in dual capacities as an academic lecturer and manager in law, management and business, and in senior administrative/executive posts as University Secretary/Clerk to the Board of Governors. Bethan has been a member of various University Senior Management Teams. In addition, she has run her own educational management consultancy with a particular focus on strategic and operational leadership, governance and management within interorganisational contexts, as well as policy and change management in UK FE/HE institutions.
Bethan’s appointment as Senior Assistant Registrar in the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science at BUE follows her working at the Aberystwyth University International Branch Campus in Mauritius as Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager and where she also lectured in Law and in Business & Management. Previously, Bethan held posts as University Secretary and Clerk to the Board of Governors at the Arts University Bournemouth and as Director of Learning Enhancement, Access and Partnership at the University of Greenwich. She was also, formerly, Executive Director of CADISE – a crossregional consortium of eight specialist performing and creative arts higher education institutions in the UK (London, the south east and the south west) – a pioneering project funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Bethan has been a Key Associate and International Associate with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education in the UK (now AdvanceHE), working with various stakeholders on leadership and management interventions, a member of a number of nationally funded research projects and an active member of network organisations, such as AHUA (Association of Heads of University Administration) and ACP (Association of Collaborative Provision of HE in Further Education Colleges).
