Ibrahim Sabra is an Assistant Lecturer of Law at the British University in Egypt (BUE) and a Chevening alumnus. He received his Bachelor of Laws from Ain Shams University and recently obtained his Master of Laws in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from University of East Anglia as an awardee of the prestigious UK Chevening Scholarship.
Mr Sabra current teaching responsibilities include delivering tutorials on Legal Research & Study Skills and Scientific Thoughts & Methods of Legal Research at undergraduate level. He previously delivered tutorials on International Organisations and Public International Law. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he co-coached the 2019 BUE team that participated in Oxford University’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition. Currently, Ibrahim serves as a researcher at the BUE Law School’s Center for Law and Emerging Technologies, a Moot Court Unit coordinator and a member of the Undergraduate Summer School Committee.
Sabra primarily focuses on legal research and internet related issues: privacy and data protection, surveillance and other human rights issues. He is also interested in exploring the interplay between information technology law and human rights law, humanitarian law and criminal law.
During his undergraduate studies, Ibrahim has effectively taken part in several extracurricular activities which helped him hone his academic and interpersonal skills; He was a member of the team representing Ain Shams University in Oxford University’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, where his team got qualified to the international rounds after securing the first place in the Middle East rounds in which Sabra was nominated as the best speaker in the final. After that, he co-coached Ain Shams following year team and took part in founding Ain Shams Model of Moot Court. Moreover, Ibrahim has joined Model of Arab League and Model of United Nations as a delegate, then, Model of European Union as a director and president. He has also participated in a number of international youth conferences in Estonia and France.
