Research Directions

The ICS faculty consists of a set of 13 faculty members, spanning 4 specialisations: Networking, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Systems. The ICS faculty is actively engaged in research, as is evidenced by a significant number of publications in 2012 (approximately 50 publications), PhD/MSc student supervision, and conference management participation. The ICS faculty has demonstrated a strong desire to expand its emphasis on research. In order to enhance the research output of our faculty, the ICS faculty has formulated a research plan which will be described in detail in this report, which forms the basis of a research strategic plan that provides a framework for the next 3 years. Currently, the following clusters have been tentatively identified:
- Biometrics
- Software engineering metrics
- Data mining and data warehousing
- Network simulation platforms

- Master Degree The objective of Web Science MSc. Degree is to understand how the Web evolves and to understand how we can make the Web a better tool for our individual needs, for society, and for our organisations. For this purpose, we must look at the Web from an interdisciplinary perspective. The four specialisations of the ICS faculty : Computer Science; Information Systems; Software engineering and Computer Networks sharing the teaching and supervision for this master degree.
