    Prof. Gouda received his PhD from department of Materials Science and Engineering, North Carolina State University in 1981. He received his M.Sc from Department of Metallurgy, University of Connecticut in 1977 and his B.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering, Cairo University in 1968. Prof. Gouda joined BUE in 2005 as a Professor of materials science and engineering. He became the Dean of Engineering at BUE in May 2006. The Vice President for Research & Community Services in September 2011, the Acting President in March 2013 and BUE President from July 2013 until July 2014. Prior to that, he was Professor of materials science and engineering, and the Chairman of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and automotive engineering department, Higher Technological Institute, 10th of Ramadan city, EGYPT. He also served as Associate Dean of the October sixth branch of the institute for the academic year 2003- 2004.

  • Bio:

    Prof. Gouda is an active member in the national organizations and committees which advocate the progress of advanced materials in Egypt .He is a member of the committee of promoting research professors and associate research professors in Mubarak City for Scientific Research and Technology applications. He is also a member in the National Committee of New Materials in the Egyptian Academy of Science and Technology. Prof. Gouda edited a book about the rare early works of Naguib Mahfous, the Egyptian Nobel prize winner in literature. Reuters published a report in Arabic about that book on March 8-2007.

  • Fields of Interest:

    Prof. Gouda's research interests are in metal matrix composites, mechanical properties, inter facial and inter phasial phenomena of metal matrix composites. He is also interested in advanced steels and environmental studies. Prof. Gouda has been involved in teaching various courses in materials science and engineering, stress analysis, and engineering thermodynamics over more than twenty years. He has published more than forty technical papers and presented over eighty seminars papers and organized more than 60 workshops in composite materials throughout EGYPT and he is the co-author of a textbook in Production Technology.

    Prof. Gouda has been selected more than twenty times to be an external examiner for both doctorate and master examinations.
