The President of the British University in Egypt Professor Ahmed Hamad, has the immense pleasure to announce that the BUE has won the first place in the field of physics according to Shanghai Ranking Consultancy (ARWU), among 500 Universities of the world, outclassing all the Egyptian Government and Private Universities. This is considered as a confirmation of the University's mission in the field of scientific research.

From his part, Mr Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The British University in Egypt, congratulated the University President, students, administrative and academic staff members on this accomplishment and stressing on the continuation in supporting the scientific research process at the University.

Professor Hamad pointed out that the British University in Egypt is committed to the quality of education, which made the University won the primary spot among private and public universities in Egypt for four consecutive years, according to the classification of QS and US News.

The event was attended by 300 candidates and was held on three consecutive days, where clinical live recordings with simulated clinical conditions focused on all the therapeutic stages that could be confronted and how to illuminate it.

The first two days were specialized for who were facing mishaps, the third day was a hands-on workshop that included 100 participants who were monitored by over 20 specialized doctors that were assigned from the Faculty of Dentistry at the BUE.

Feedback from this amazing event was prominent as participants were able to share problems, concerns and even professional development management with the lecturing professors.

This was a successful event by all means and one of the best Endodontic meetings hosted by the BUE, where it focused on hosting fine highly specialised educational participants who helped in spreading the latest of the technological advances and innovations, along with the elite of experienced professors that helped to convey the message to postgraduate and undergraduate students.

In a ceremony hosted at the BUE’s campus in Sherouk and in the presence of the University President, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Andersen Tax & Legal Managing Director and esteemed members as well as a number of lawyers and economists, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Law and Andersen Tax & Legal to exchange research activities in relevant areas. This includes providing faculty students with training courses by Andersen Tax & Legal to prepare them for joining the practical legal world.

The BUE Faculty of Law will soon be graduating its first class of distinguished students who will receive a bachelor’s degree in law from Egypt, as well as the LLB degree from the University of London South Bank in England. The University aims at graduating distinguished students through supporting them with the needed research tools and training given by legal experts from internationally renowned law firms.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Hassaan Abd Elhamid, stated that the Faculty of Law was established as per the constitutional law no. 344 for the year 2015 and the academic program was designed in collaboration with London South Bank University on the basis of the concept of “practical legal application” owing to the fact that the Faculty of Law is originally of a practical nature. Therefore, the program was designed to develop the students’ knowledge and skills in the fields of Egyptian law, English law and International law in both Arabic and English languages in addition to the compulsory students’ training. All these elements combine to graduate competent calibers who are ready to work immediately after graduation.
The Faculty of Law seeks to be a pioneer in the legal research field, accordingly the Law and Advanced Technology Research Centre has been established to become a scientific entity specialised in researching and solving the contemporary legal questions resulting from the 21st century digital revolution to cope with future changes.

This protocol complements the training scheme sought by the BUE Faculty of Law.

The President of the International Federation of Dentistry FDI, Dr. Kathryn Kell and the former Saudi Dental Syndicate visited the BUE on the 15th of December, 2018.

The honourable guests were welcomed by Professor Ahmed Hamad the BUE President, Professor Tarek Abbas Dean of Dentistry Faculty and many Academic Staff members.

Dr kell visited the Faculty of Dentistry in the British University of Egypt upon an invitation from Professor Abbas, her program included a tour to the library followed by a visit to the dental hospital where she was fascinated by the outstanding dental clinics equipped with the most updated dental units. She also visited the Radiology Centre, the Central sterilization unit and the operating theatre where she was impressed by the highest technology of machines and equipments. During her visit, she had the opportunity to watch our students working with patients and she was amazed by the excellent free dental service offered to a huge number of patients visiting the dental hospital on daily basis.


The BUE Graduation Ceremonies 2018

On the 8th ,9th and 10th of December 2018, The British University in Egypt held its 10th Annual graduation ceremonies, at the BUE Auditorium, celebrating the achievements of more than 1400 granduands with their graduation; including the first cohort from the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media, second from the Faculties of Pharmacy and Dentistry, the ninth from the Faculty in Engineering, the seventh from the Faculty of Nursing, tenth from both Faculties of Business Administration, Economics & Political Science and Informatics & Computer Science.

The BUE was particularly honoured to have keynote speakers such as H.E Dr. Ashraf Subhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Professor Farouk El Baz, Sir Magdy Yacoub and H.E Amr Moussa. During the BUE President speech, Professor Ahmed Hamad addressed the parents stating that “by choosing the BUE you have guaranteed high-quality education for your children as the University offers dual degrees, one accredited form the Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt and the other is from London South Bank University, Loughborough University and Queen Margaret University.”

Many dignitaries attended several ceremonies including, the UK Ambassador Sir Geoffrey Adams, Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean, Baroness Pauline Perry, Mrs. Elizabeth White, Director of the British Council, Professor Mustafa El Fiki, Sir Charles Clarke and the Honourable Charles Ottway, Deans of the Faculties and Academic staff members.


BUE welcome Party.

The BUE Student Union has organized the Annual Welcome Party on November the 23rd 2018, on BUE Campus.
The Super Stars Jason Derulo and Tamer Hosny performed in the welcome party by an outstanding performance singing their biggest hits, and if that was not enough DJ David Vendetta performed lighting up the stage with their music.
Professor Ahmed Hamad the BUE President, pointed to the importance for students to develop their social skills, and emphasizing the continuous support of the BUE, thanking all who helped to organize this event to make this day a success, focusing on the Many positive relations that will exist from the socialization on the student outcomes.

During the welcome party, the Super Star Tamer Hosny was awarded by Mrs Hanan ElSaadawi among the attendance of many staff members, students and coverage by media channels.


IELTS and UK Study Abroad Opportunities

Within the framework of cooperation between the British University in Egypt and the British Council, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the BUE hosted a session entitled “IELTs and UK Study Abroad Opportunities,” on the 25th of November 2018, delivered by the British Council’s IELT’s and UK Qualifications officials Mr. Tamir Ismail and Mr. Khaled Elzoghby.

The purpose of the session was to educate the attendees on the IELTS test form and procedures, to inform them of the UK scholarship opportunities supported by the British Council, and to announce the inauguration of the British Council’s IELTS Advisory Office at the BUE.

The session started with an overview about the British Council’s Chevening and Newton- Mosharafa scholarships, moved to the medical qualification exams supported by the British Council, such as IMRCS, MJDF, and MFDS, and finally ended with an account on the IELTS test.

The session was attended by Prof. Shadia Fahim, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Maha Emara, Head of the English Language and Literature Department, Prof. Mohamed Taha, Head of Psychology Department, Mrs. Nabila Nakhla, the coordinator of the Continuing Education Centre (CEC), the Faculty of Arts academic and admin staff members, a large number of BUE students from a variety of BUE Faculties, and members from the external community. The attendees found the session quite informative and were given an opportunity to discuss their interests and pose their enquiries.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities in collaboration with the Student Union has organised a cultural event that captured the essence of Arabic and Western cultures and merged them into a musical masterpiece, by hosting Maestro Nayer Nagui, the founder and artistic director of the Cairo Celebration Choir, at the BUE theatre on Sunday the 18th of November, 2018.

Maestro Nayer, in complete harmony with his Choir, successfully introduced his glorious masterpiece “Aghany Bel Araby,” a compilation of folkloric songs by highly-regarded Egyptian composers such as Sayed Darwish & Gamal Abd el Reheem.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, the BUE President Professor Ahmed Hamad, Board members, Deans of the Faculties, staff and students attended the event and all enjoyed listening to the Egyptian Folklore songs that were presented in an innovative way developing a cross cultural taste for music.

Professor Shadia Fahim, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, along with the BUE President Professor Ahmed Hamad honoured the guest by presenting the University Shield of Honour, thanking him and the Choir for their exquisite performance, and acknowledging all the Student Union members for their collaboration that made this masterpiece accessible to BUE students.


New achievement by Noha Abdel Rahman.

The British University in Egypt would like to Congratulate Noha Abdel Rahman, Assistant Lecturer at the Business Administration Department, BAEPS Faculty, for being awarded on her Best Paper and Best Student Paper that was presented in the International Research Conference, for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibilities.

The Conference took place in the American University in Emirates (AUE), on November 13-15, 2018 Dubai, UAE. This was under the supervision of Professor Kenneth D’Silva, London South Bank University (LSBU) and Associate Professor Mohamed H. Rashwan, British University in Egypt (BUE). It was funded by London South Bank University as a part of the PhD Programme which she is currently working on it at LSBU.

The President of the British University in Egypt Professor Ahmed Hamad would like to congratulate the newly elected Student Union members & their President Mohamed Lofty Arafa and his deputy, Ahmed Mohamed Soliman.

The elections took place in the University on Wednesday 7th of November, 2018. BUE students voted in a democratic atmosphere, in the presence of the University President, Professor Ahmed Hamad, and the General Secretary Mr. Hassan Ammar, Director of the Student Activities and Welfare Department Mrs. Hanan El Saadawi, in addition to many academics and administrative staff members.

Professor Ahmed Hamad praised the attendance and the voting process, and gave a speech to the elected students following the announcement of the winners where he stressed & encouraged on the need of the extracurricular activities in addition to the educational system.

The British University in Egypt is proud to announce that two of its students were selected to represent the BUE at the World Youth Forum which was held in Sharm EL Sheikh under the supervision of the auspices of H.E. President Mohamed Abdelfattah El Sisy.

The British University in Egypt’s, Centre for Egypt and ME Studies hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “The Fast Growing Economies Worldwide: Challenges to and Success Stories of Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, and Tajikistan on Sunday, 28 October 2018 at BUE Campus. The purpose of the roundtable discussion was to bring together government officials, senior diplomats and economic experts as well as academia, faculty and students alike to analyze the most important economic challenges, address opportunities and obstacles, showcase solutions and pinpoint the success stories of the countries which were able to achieve rapid economic growth.

The keynote speakers were H.E. Mr. Jose Octavio Tripp; Ambassador of Mexico; H.E. Mrs. Maria Madalena Fischer; Ambassador of Portugal, H.E. Mr. S. Premijth; Ambassador of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Khursav Noziri, Ambassador of Tajikistan. The four ambassadors met first with the President of the University Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Vice- Presidents and Deans followed by the roundtable discussion with students and faculty of BAEPS headed by Dean Wadouda Badran. They presented lessons from the success stories of their nations, highlighting the economic challenges that they endured in order to achieve economic growth. The session was followed by an interactive Q &A from the audience. The guests were impressed by the quality of questions asked by the faculty, staff and students of the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science, Registered their admiration to BUE.

It is worth mentioning that the roundtable discussion took place with the support and the presence of Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Ahmed Hamad, President of the BUE as well as Dean Wadouda Badran. The roundtable discussion was moderated by Ambassador Dr. Mahmoud Karem, Director of Centre of Egypt and ME Studies (CEMES).
