The BUE Celebrates Egypt’s 1919 Revolution.

The British University in Egypt in a collaboration with the Sherouk Academy and Al Ahram Institution celebrated Egypt’s 1919 Revolution Centennial at the BUE auditorium, under the title of “Revolution of the People and the Renaissance of a Nation.”

The Ceremony started with an art exhibition with several photos reflecting the revolution history and it’s leader Saad Zaghlol, icons and symbols from the revolution.

Mr Mohamed Farid Khamis and the BUE President Professor Ahmed Hamad, had received the leaders who represented the Wafd Party, Dr. Hany Seri El Din, member of the Supreme Committee of the Wafd Party, Mr Abdel Aziz Al Nahas, Vice President of the Wafd Party, General Nour Nour, member of the Supreme Committee of El Wafd party, in addition to Dr Hany Seri El Din, as well as, HE Doria Sharaf El Din, Former Minister of Information.
The event started by a speech from the BUE President followed by a speech by Mr. Khamis, afterwards Dr. Osman al – Qyati, the grandson of Sheikh Mustafa al – Qayati, one of the revolution leaders, Dr Edward Sergius, the grandson of Sargius of the preacher of the revolution, and Dr Alaa al – Shawali, the grandson of Saad Zaghlol, were honored and received the BUE Shields. Many more of the dignitaries had a small speeches regarding revolution documentaries shown to the audience.

The ceremony ended by a compilation of the most influential songs that was written during the revolution, sang by our BUE students and Sayed Darwish choir .
