Organized Crime and Sustainable Development in the Light of Egypt’s 2030 Strategy In Cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Middle East and North Africa (UNDOC ROMENA).

The Faculty of Law in the British University in Egypt with the cooperation with of United Nations Regional Office for Combating Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized a conference under the title of "Sustainable Development and Organized Crime in the Light of Egypt's Vision 2030".

During the conference, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Law and the Regional Office that intended to create and address many academic and educational activities related to community service.

The conference was held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BUE, Professor Ahmed Hamad the BUE , Professor Hassan Abdelhamid – Dean of the Faculty of Law at the BUE, Mr. Ali Al-Barir, Deputy Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Ms. Randa Abulhassan, Regional Representative of the United Nations Development Program in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Professor Sayed Abdul-Khaliq, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Head of the Legal Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Howaida Barakat, Undersecretary & Head of Sustainable Development Unit, Minister Ahmed Darwish, Former Minister of Administrative Development, Professor Laila Iskandar, Former Minister of State for Urban Development and Slums, Judge Dr. Khaled Al-Qadi, Head of the Law Awareness Center, Ambassador Naila Gabr, Head of National Committee to combat and prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking, Dr. Ashraf Helal – Head of Cairo Court of Appeal, Dr. Mohamed El Guindy, Expert at the UN and a member of the Teaching Staff at the British University in Egypt, Colonel Dr. Hesham Zalouk, Head of Anti-Corruption Academy at the Administrative Control Authority, Major Ahmed Adel Basha, Organized Crime Unit Secret Service-Administrative Control Authority, Judge KamelSamir, Head of International Cooperation at the Office of the Attorney General, Dr. Khalid Serry Siam head of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, Kingdom of Bahrain & Professor of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law, British University, Professor Dr. Fathy Serour, Professor of Criminal law at Cairo University, Judge Ahmed Abo El Enein, Head of International Cooperation Office at the Court of Cassation, Dr. Mostafa Abd El Kader – Former Head of Egyptian Tax Authority, Mr. Amr Rashed, Head of International Cooperation Office at Money Laundering Unit at the Central Bank of Egypt. Among the attendees were Dr. Abdul Aziz Salman, Vice-President of the Supreme Constitutional Court, judges from the Egyptian Court of Cassation, the State Council, in addition to academics and faculty members from many universities.
